Panchakarma is an internal part of Ayurveda which focuses on achieving a balance between the 3 vitals- body, mind and consciousness. The process of Panchakarma is used to cleanse the body of toxins due to disease and poor nutrition. To achieve a balanced state, the science makes the use of detoxification and rejuvenation.
Panchakarma is, basically, a set of five therapies designed for cleansing the body of toxins. Due to the poor lifestyle, exercise patterns, hormones, metabolic factors, etc., we are unable to get rid of the body toxins which is an automatic process. This leads to the collection and spread of toxins throughout the body which causes disease. To get rid of this waste matter, Panchakarma therapies are performed on a person.
The 5 Panchakarma Therapies are:
- Vamana Therapy
- Virechan Therapy
- Basti Therapy
- Nasya Therapy
- Raktamokshana Therapy
