The Department of Psychiatry leads the clues to comprehend, analyze, treat, and prevent psychiatric disorders, provide extensive care, prepare future clinicians, and give track to community efforts to advance behavioral health.
The advances in this field are mirrored in the varied and eclectic research productivity by members of our department. The idea is of a better world. A world of better health and decreased burdens of mental illness. We envision a future in which children, adults, and elders live well, everyday. The department is creating the path to this better future. Working with a wide array of world class professionals, we are developing research, clinical, and educational initiatives that will make real differences in people’s lives. The department of psychiatry extends comprehensive services to the entire range of psychiatric disorders. It runs a 30 bedded, centre staffed division, round the clock with highly experienced mental health professionals. At present, a team of six psychiatrists and other supporting staff make up the department. Besides attending the patients, the department is actively involved in academic upliftment of MBBS students, nursing students and paramedical students. The department conducts educational programmes for the good of general public, time to time. The OPD services offered by the department include general psychiatry and super specialty OPDs. Rehabilitation services by clinical psychologists and psychiatric social workers are also available.
