The Department of Orthopaedics is a constituent of the School of Medical Sciences & Research at Sharda hospital. The department is known for imparting quality education to MBBS students, treat the patients with the use of world-class equipment and provide state of the art medical care services. It provides treatment for most ongoing specialty conditions like fracture treatment, joint replacement, spinal fracture and pediatric orthopedics. Besides providing specialty medical services, the department holds expertise in treating trauma services and has a 24-hour trauma center. The faculty is well-trained and equipped to deal with even the rarest of orthopedic cases. From a simple foot condition to the most complex spinal injury, the department has all the required instruments for treatment. At the Orthopaedics department, both indoor and outdoor medical services are available with 90 fully-equipped beds. Particularly for joint replacement and treatment of spinal diseases, the specialized clinic is run on a regular basis.
The department has been an avid contributor to the National Tuberculosis Program for assisting in the treatment of spinal /osteoarticular Tuberculosis with special emphasis on bone repair and regeneration.
