Minimally Invasive Procedure Proved to Be a Miraculous Treatment for Fibroids

Overview

For 3 years, Meghna Das avoided fibroid surgery despite suffering from heavy bleeding and intense pain. Her fear of surgery being the only option to treat the condition clouded her judgment. She relied on medications prescribed by the doctors.

One day while returning home from work, she faced continuous heavy bleeding and the pain grew stronger. She was brought to Sharda Hospital in an unconscious state. After stabilizing her condition, when Meghna interacted with Dr. S.S. Gulati, he explained that her condition is worsening and it may cause other complications.

Though the news was not a surprise to her, Meghna asked for the treatment options apart from getting her uterus removed. Considering her treatment choice, the doctor suggested her to undergo the process of Laparoscopic Myomectomy.

Under this procedure, she was sedated with general anaesthesia. The doctors inserted a laparoscope near the belly button and made small incisions in the lower abdomen. The fibroids were removed and the uterus was closed using a laparoscopic technique.

After completion of the procedure, Meghna was discharged the same day. Post surgery, she took an average recovery time of about two weeks and is now living her life peacefully.
