A dancer by profession, the 23 YO Kinjal Kulshreshtha first visited Sharda Health City when she experienced paralysis of a part of the body while she was dancing. She says it was impossible to move for those 5 minutes and recalled how she was having painful headaches for quite some time now.
A visit to Sharda Health city’s neurosurgeon and he suggested her to undergo some tests. Once the results were out, it was pretty clear, Miss Kulshreshtha was suffering from a brain tumour that, if left untreated, could leave her paralysed for life.
She was left in a state of shock when the doctors informed her that the tumour could have been there for 5-10 years. Located in the cerebellum, the tumour was as big as a tennis ball and due to its location; it could considerably affect the movement and balance of any normal person.
For a professional dancer like Miss Kulshreshtha, even the thought of losing balance and movement was traumatizing.
After a series of tests, the senior-most neurosurgeon at Sharda Hospital suggested that Kinjal undergoes a brain surgery to get rid of the tumour. After understanding the risks and a few sessions between Miss Kinjal, her parents and the doctor, she decided to undergo the surgery.
With a 4-hour-long surgery, persistent efforts by the doctors, and bravery shown by Kinjal, the tumour had been entirely removed from her brain.
“The recovery hardly took few days and I was free to go home,” says Kinjal.
“With support from the doctor and my parents, I recovered and was back to my dancing schedule in just a month.
I knew it was going to be risky, but what would I have done in my life without dancing!” Kinjal exclaimed.
