Sharda Hospital Dentists Keep the Young Girl Smiling throughout Tooth Extraction

Overview

Jhanvi had her first tooth extraction on April 12, 2012. As an 8 year old, she was apprehensive of the process, however the dental expert specialized in paediatric care calmed the patient.

A series of shots were first given around the tooth. A couple of these were uncomfortable for her but the rest were fine. 
“About 10 minutes they tested to see if I was numb. I didn’t even feel the second round”, said Jhanvi.

An N20 (Nitrous) mask was put on Jhanvi’s nose to relax her. It is highly recommended. A rubber dam was used to isolate the operative site (one or more teeth) from the rest of the mouth. The oral surgeon then began his work of loosening the tooth. 

The extraction took about 4 minutes while Jhanvi was lying calmly. She had no conception of time because of N20. 

Thereafter, the doctor gave oxygen and stuffed gauze in her mouth, and recommended some after-care tips.
