Sanjay Gupta, a 45-year old HR executive had started to observe obscure changes in his body. He complained of breathlessness (dyspnea) while walking, dizziness, and palpitations. After continuing treatment for quite a while with his previous doctor, and seeing no signs of betterment, he came to the Sharda Hospital.
Dr. Ajoy Deshmukh, Senior Doctor of Cardiology observed his symptoms and asked him to get the Echo test done.
When the test reports came out, he was diagnosed with Myxoma - a tumor in the heart.
The cardiology team at the hospital recommended him an open heart surgery. The complex procedure was to be performed to bring his failing heart on track.
Sanjay did not believe in the first place that he had to go through a ‘scary procedure that he had only heard of’. The coming month was very special as the calendar had his daughter’s engagement marked. He had a lot to do and an open heart surgery came as an untoward shock.
Sanjay's condition worsened in a couple of days and he was immediately admitted to the hospital. The doctor explained Mr. Gupta and his family about the whole procedure and asked them to go for surgery as soon as possible.
Fortunately, the surgery was successful and Sanjay was soon out of danger.
Post-surgery, Sanjay came along with his daughter for a few follow-up sessions.
He expressed his gratitude towards the Sharda Hospital team for turning a hard time into an easy one and keeping the family motivated throughout the process.
